WHERE WILL IT TAKE PLACE?

ColombiaPlast will take place at the Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones de Bogotá (International Business and Exhibition Center of Bogotá) - Corferias, a private company that drives the industrial, social, cultural, and commercial development in the Andean, Central American, and Caribbean regions. Its main shareholder is the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, an institution that represents the interests of the corporate and public sectors.

With more than 60 years of experience in the trade-show industry, Corferias seeks to strengthen the ties between Colombia and the worldwide community through the organization of exhibitions, conferences, and events. Our purpose is to foster the engagement of qualified contacts between visitors and exhibitors at a venue on par with international standards. Likewise, Corferias promotes and organizes the participation of Colombia in exhibitions and conferences held abroad, and partners with companies that share the same goals of promoting the industrial and commercial development of the country.

In 2020, Acoplasticos, the Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones de Bogotá (International Business and Exhibition Center of Bogotá), Corferias, and Messe Düsseldorf North America formed an alliance for the joint organization of ColombiaPlast, one of the most important international trade fairs of the plastic, rubber, petrochemical, and packaging industries of Latin America, with the purpose of strengthening and positioning the event as the leading trade fair in the region for these industrial sectors.

This alliance has allowed, for the first time, a fair in Latin America, such as ColombiaPlast, to join Messe Düsseldorf·s portfolio of "Global Gate" fairs for the plastics and rubber industry, opening doors for promising access to the emergent markets of Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, China, India, and South East Asia. Under this joint organization between the offices in Germany, Chicago, and Bogotá, we have been able to provide a space where Colombian and regional entrepreneurs can come together to learn about the most recent technological breakthroughs and the latest industry trends worldwide.

It is important to highlight that Messe Düsseldorf is the organizer of K, the world’s No. 1 trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, which is held every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany. In its most recent edition, K had more than 3.300 exhibitors from 63 countries. Therefore, thanks to Messe Düsseldorf’s experience in the industry and their extensive network of sales offices in 141 countries, ColombiaPlast will be able to grow and increase its participation of international exhibitors and speakers.

ACOPLASTICOS is a guild institution founded in 1961, which represents the plastic, rubber, petrochemical, chemical, paint, ink, and fiber industries in Colombia. Its main objectives are to promote the sustainable development of the industries it represents, contribute to the corporate management of its affiliates, and be their spokesperson before the government, as well as public, private, national, and international institutions.
